It is possible to choose the length of the Mezuzah case. Sometimes, parchment scrolls come in different sizes
so it is important to choose the right size of the Mezuzah Case. Nobody likes a situation where the scroll is too big and doesn't fit inside the case.
To open, just pull the upper bead and insert the "klaf" (Parchment) into the Mezuzah case.
What are Fire Colors?
The copper and brass designs are created using a fire burning technique
that creates a special
texture in a traditional ethnic style.
When metals (especially copper and brass) are heated to a high temperature, they tend to shift colors. Amazing metallic shades of green, purple, red, orange, silver, gold and many more.
Artist Yaly Adler has harnessed this characteristic of copper to develop a special technique of decorating the Mezuzah Cases. No paint or color is used. It is all the natural colors of the metal which had surfaced as a reaction to the heating.
Affixing
This design is especially appropriate for posting on an external and wooden doors due to its dominant size,
color and presence.
On both ends of the Mezuzah Case there are matallic loops which serve the purpose of affixing the Mezuzah Case to the doorframe. This
can be done either with nails, screws or a powerful epoxy glue.
External Coating
All the Mezuzah Cases are coated with a shiny protective lacquer.It is advised not to scrub the Mezuzah case with strong toxic detergents that might disintegrate the lacquer.
